A chieftain of the pan Yoruba group, Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, says the demise of Tony Anenih has left a vacuum in the country.
Reacting to the death of the former Minister of works and one time BoT member, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adebanjo, told The Next Edition that Anenih was one of the few Nigerians he knew who insisted that Nigeria must move forward.
He said Anenih did his best for the country.
Anenih, a retired Police officer had been active on the political sphere from the 80s.

Between 1981 and 1983, he served as State Chairman of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) and spearheaded the election of late Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia as civilian Governor of Bendel State.
From 1992 to 1993, he was National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and masterminded the election of Chief M. K. O. Abiola as President.
From 1999 till his retirement in 2015, Anenih was an active and committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, a party he served in various capacities.
