Nigerian actress Dayo Amusa has decided to withdraw the petition she filed against TikToker Segun Olaoluwa.

The Next Edition recalls that months ago, Segun released a viral video falsely claiming that Amusa was living with HIV.

The case began after Segun’s video spread widely online, prompting the actress to report the matter to the police.

He was arrested and detained for the false allegation.

On Monday, September 15, the TikToker shared a video recounting the harsh experience he had while in detention and tendered an apology to Amusa for spreading the false information.

In response, Dayo Amusa posted a video online on Tuesday where she announced her decision to forgive him and requested that the matter be closed.

She explained that aside from her willingness to let go.

News of Segun recently losing his mother also moved her to drop the case.

The actress had earlier vowed to make him face the law after the damaging claim, but her latest decision brings the matter to an end.

She said: “To err is human and to forgive is divine. I have decided to forgive him and let this matter go. I also got to know that he recently lost his mother, and that touched me. So I don’t want to push this case any further.”

Segun admitted that his days in detention were among the worst moments of his life, coming shortly after the loss of his mother.
