Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has met with widows, orphans and people with disabilities as part of activities to mark his 60th birthday anniversary.

The meeting, which took place at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House Makurdi also had friends, associates, family members, top government functionaries as well as former local government chairmen who served at the time he was Chairman of Guma, in attendance.

During the meeting, the Governor, assisted by his wife, donated cash, food and non-food items to hundreds of widows, orphans and people living with disabilities.

While scores of widows were given the sum of N100,000 each, those with disabilities were given N50,000 each while orphanage homes got cash donations of N250,000 each, among other items.

The Benue first family thanked God for his love, mercies and blessings upon the life of the Governor and asked for more blessings.

Also, speaking, his deputy, Mr. Benson Abounu, appreciated Benue people for standing by his boss all through the years and prayed God for more blessings upon his life.

Earlier, Governor Samuel Ortom, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Eunice Ortom and other family members, commence his 60th birthday anniversary activities on Friday morning with a Church Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Gboko Road, Makurdi.

He was also accompanied by his Deputy Governor, Mr. Benson Abounu, Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Titus Uba, Secretary to the Benue State Government, Professor Anthony Ijohor and Head of Service, Mrs Veronica Onyeke as well as Commissioners, Special Advisers, heads of government agencies and other top government functionaries.
