The 2015 presidential candidate of National Conscience Party, NCP, Martins Onovo has advocated the alliance of different political parties in order to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forth coming general elections.
According to Onovo, “It is important that all political parties come together and work in order to ensure that APC did not return to power in 2019.
The coming to power of APC has further complicated the several challenges facing the country and we all must ensure that the party does not retain power come 2019.”
Onovo stressed that the economy is bleeding and the security situation has worsened in the past three and half years that the party took over power.

According to him, Nigeria cannot afford to have another four years of APC in power because the suffering would be unbearable.
The former presidential candidate revealed that a high level discussion is going on among political stakeholders in order to adopt a common position on who to support among the presidential candidates.
“Whoever the different political parties adopt would be okay for some of us except the presidential candidate of APC.”
Onovo recently announced his defection from the NCP over what he described as abnormalities committed by those elected to pilot the affairs of the party.
