Few days to the February 16 date for Presidential election, the support base for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, received a boost as two other Presidential candidates stood down for him.
At a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday, Presidential candidates of the Peoples Coalition Party, PCP, and the All Grassroot Alliance, AGA, Nicolas Felix and Chuks Nwachukwu respectively, announced they were collapsing their parties into the PDP and adopting Atiku as their consensus candidate.

They called on their supporters to rally behind Atiku, maintaining that his capacity to provide a new direction for the country informed their decision to surrender their ambition, in the interest of the nation.
