The Super Eagles of Nigeria put up a brilliant display to defeat  the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Godswill Obot Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

Nigeria now has one foot in Russia with nine points after defeating Cameroon 4 – 0. No one would have predicted this scoreline against a Cameroonian side that won the African Cup of Nations in January and participated in the FIFA Confederations Cup in June.

The highly anticipated game was billed to be a very tough game, considering the position of Cameroon in the group B. Nigeria with this victory now sits at the top of group B, comprising Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia with nine points.

Goals from Odion Ighalo, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho sealed the victory for the Super eagles. Mikel, the star of the match, played brilliantly, setting up two goals and scoring one. He was substituted with Ndubisi Agu in the 67th minute. He left with a thunderous applause from the fans.
