The Federal Government has said that it is ready to ensure the amicable settlement of the crisis informing the strike embarked upon by the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU).
The strike by JOHESU has crippled activities in most hospitals in the country.
In a statement by the Director, Media and Public Relations of the Ministry of Health, the Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole, was quoted as making the remark in reaction to the order of an interim injunction granted by the National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja compelling the striking members of JOHESU to immediately resume duties.
The minister said in its efforts to resolve the crisis, the government, on Thursday, waited for the representatives of JOHESU for the continuation of an earlier meeting to no avail.

“Shortly after the adjournment of the boycotted meeting, an official communication titled: Collapse of negotiation between the Federal Government and Joint Health Sector Unions was issued by JOHESU,” he said.
The minister said that despite the conclusion by JOHESU that negotiation had collapsed, government had not reneged on its commitment to promote peace and harmony in the health sector.
He insisted that government would continue to encourage dialogue for the amicable settlement of the problem.
He said JOHESU should consider the effects of their actions on the generality of Nigerians and commence work as well as continue with negotiation with government.
