The president’s long absence has generated a lot of concerns among Nigerians leading to mass protest in Abuja, calling on him to return or resign from office.

Zonal Organizing Secretary of the party, Mr. Paul Obi, said in a statement made available to  Next Edition in Uyo on Saturday that the proposed rally would mobilize more grassroots support from all the states of the south south zone as well as from other critical stakeholders across the country.

The statement reads in part:  ”The proposed rally is expected to hold anytime soon in a South South state and is expected to mobilise stakeholders as well as youth and other interest groups who will take part in a Street March  among others as a mark of solidarity for Mr. President”.

Mr. Obi who is also chairman of the event planning committee said stakeholders would demonstrate their solidarity for Mr. President.

He said they would also express their support for his administration’s economic recovery, anti-corruption and national unity pursuit among other developmental policies of the APC-led administration.

He maintained that the people of the South South were itching to demonstrate their overwhelming support for the President and wish him divine health as he resumes office on Monday.

He announced that the committee had made wider consultations with critical stakeholders in the zone and would soon come out with a full programme for the event.

He however did not announce the< date for the event.
