Sage (www.Sage.com/africa), one of the world’s leader in integrated accounting, payroll, human resource and payment systems, has launched new payroll and invoicing platforms in Nigeria.
The products are designed to help small businesses focus on what really matters while offering business builders the freedom to run their businesses anywhere, anytime.
Sage One Payroll seamlessly integrates with Sage One Accounting, which provides a complete business solution for start-up and small businesses.
Sage One Invoicing, on the other hand, is an entry-level version of Sage One Accounting that enables petty traders, self-employed consultants and other micro-business owners to produce professional quotes and invoices.
Speaking at the launch of the software in Lagos, Wednesday, the company’s Regional Director for West Africa, Magnus Nmonwu, said, “We aim to make tasks such as admin and red tape invisible by 2020 so that businesses of all sizes can focus on their business strategy, their customers and their dreams.
“This is why we place a huge emphasis on automating those tasks that business builders enjoy the least.”
Sage One Payroll, which is accessible from the cloud is said to be a smart online payroll solution that can be accessed at all times and caters for local tax and legal requirements.
The software allows for calculating unlimited earnings (owed to employees) and deductions (what the employee owes).
It also makes it easy to calculate employees’ net salaries or wages, as well as deductions such as Pay-as-You-Earn (PAYE) and contributions to National Housing Fund (NHF), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), pension and life insurance.
The regional chief said for as little as N600 for two employees per month, the product would streamline the capturing of transactions, automate payroll calculations and bring visibility to the business.
It also makes it simpler to keep track of annual changes to tax regulations that impact on payroll tax calculations.

With the product, he said organisations would not only access data from the cloud but could also assist in ensuring compliance with the requirement of Personal Income Tax Act and generate tax certificate at a go.
According to him, the smart online payroll solution has the capacity to expand and shrink as a business grows, enabling it to add as many employees or pay cycles as it would like to.
