The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the arrest of one Mr. Sunday Uko Akpan for allegedly killing his wife.
Akpan, an elder in the Light of World Mission Church, located at Oron Road, Uyo was said to have murdered his wife, Mrs. Martha Sunday Uko, over minor disagreement which resulted into a quarrel.
A press statement by the state Public Relations Officers, DSP Bala Elkana, on Tuesday, said the suspect carried out the act in the presence of his three children who later reported to the police.

“On the strength of the information, the Command arrested one Mr.Sunday UkoAkpan ‘m’ of No. 26 Eda Street, Uyo, an Elder in the Light of the World Mission Church, Oron Road Uyo, over the murder of his wife, one Mrs. Martha Sunday Uko ‘f’.
“Investigation revealed that, on 11th October, 2017 at about 2200hrs, the said suspect brutally butchered a 35 years old mother of three who happened to be his wife over a slight misunderstanding which resulted into a quarrel and fight.
“Thereafter, the suspect at mid-night went further using sharp matchet to cut the remains of his wife into pieces, gathered them in two sack bags, loaded them in a wheelbarrow and disposed it in a dust bin close to NDLEA’s office off Nwaniba Road, Uyo.
The command spokesman said the suspect had confessed to the crime and would be arraigned in court for murder.
