The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has rejected in its entirety the governorship election re-run held in Osun State on Thursday.
National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus who addressed the press in Abuja said, “what happened in Osun today is unacceptable to us. We call on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and the INEC, to declare the PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, winner of the governorship election.”
He accused the INEC of conniving with the All Progressives Congress (APC), and security operatives to intimidate and harass his party supporters insisting that they won the election at the September 22 polls.

Secondus, supported by members of the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC), said his party will head to the courts to challenge INEC’S decision if it is contrary to their demands.
Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), governorship candidate in the just concluded re-run election, Ademola Adeleke, has also rejected the exercise insisting it was “a coup not an election.”
There has been reports of heavy handedness, intimidation and harassment of the members of the opposition PDP by security personnel and thugs at the just concluded re-run elections in seven wards of four local government areas of the state.
The areas include: Oshogbo, Ife South and North and Orolu Local Governments respectively.
