Plateau United Football Club of Jos on Sunday defeated Dakkada FC of Uyo 2-0 in a Match Day 20 fixture of the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
In the match played at the New Zaria Road Stadium, Tosin Omoyele scored the first goal after 41 minutes, while Oche Ocheochi scored the second goal with two minutes remaining.
Speaking after the match, the Technical Adviser of Plateau United, Abdu Maikaba, commended his team for winning the game.
Maikaba said the win has comfortably placed the team on top of the table.
He, however, lamented that his players wasted many scoring chances during the match
“We already knew that we are playing a tough team and so we prepared very well.
“We had many scoring chances but lost them. However, I want to commend our players for making us proud in this match.

“As usual, we take matches as they come. So, we will take time and train well ahead of our next match with Lobi Stars in week 21 in Makurdi.
“It will not be easy too, but we will strategise to win all subsequent matches,” the coach said.
On his part, the Technical Adviser of Dakkada FC, Caleb Esu, expressed displeasure with the performance of his players.
He said the outcome of the game fell short of his expectation, adding that his boys also performed below expectations.
“Our game plan did not work as we programmed it. My players did not really put in their best as far as this game is concerned.
“We really needed the points but the players did not meet my expectation,” Esu lamented.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that both teams wore black armbands during the game and had a one-minute silence before the game to honour the late Audu Pele.
The late Head Coach of Plateau United had died on Wednesday at the age of 58.
