Popular Musician Tekno whose real name is Augustine Miles Kelechi, has been granted administrative bail by the police on health grounds.
The musician and his video producer, Lawal Tijani, were arrested on August 6, 2019, for breaching public decency by conveying half naked girls in Lekki traffic.
A video showing half naked girls dancing seductively in a transparent box on a truck around the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge went viral last week. Inside the box the musician was seen spraying the ladies with money while they danced.
Following the public outcry, the musician and his producer were picked up a week after the incident.
According to reports, Tekno and the ladies involved in the naked video were all drilled for hours by men of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) SCIID, Mrs. Yetunde Longe, told journalists that the singer could not be detained because of his health condition.
The act is said to be in contravention of Section 136 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which provides that any person who commits any act of gross indecency with another person in public commits an offence and liable on conviction to three years imprisonment.
