Nigeria Records 242 New COVID-19 Cases

Nigeria has confirmed 242 new cases of COVID-19, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The cases emanated from13 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

This brings the total number of cases so far confirmed in the country to 4,641.

Lagos, the epicentre of the disease recorded the highest number of cases followed by Kano and Katsina.

Seven deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours – Sunday night – to Monday night, according to the data released by the NCDC.

The centre tweeted:
“242 new cases of #COVID19;
“88-Lagos, 64-Kano, 49-Katsina, 13-Kaduna, 9-Ogun, 6-Gombe, 4-Adamawa, 3-FCT, 1-Ondo, 1-Oyo , 1–Rivers, 1-Zamfara, 1-Borno and 1-Bauchi.

“4641 cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria
Discharged: 902
Deaths: 150.”

The centre also corrected an error in the figures it released on April 10 regarding the number of deaths in Nasarawa.

It said: “On the 10th of April 2020, we erroneously announced 2 new deaths in Nasarawa .

“There was 1 death in Nasarawa reported on the 10th of April .

“We apologise to the State Government for this error, & remain committed to providing accurate data.”
