The Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Next Edition newspaper, Victoria Ibanga has been elected the treasurer of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
Ms. Ibanga was elected to the new position after she completed the constitutional two-terms as General Secretary of the umbrella body of editors in Nigeria.
A consummate journalist and media administrator, Ms. Ibanga has a robust career traversing media organisations within and outside the country.
After a successful tenure as general secretary of the Guild, she was again called out by her colleagues to provide leadership at the just concluded Biennial Convention held at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, on Saturday.
Speaking at the convention, the NEXT EDITION boss thanked the re-elected president, Funke Egbemode, saying it was a pleasure working with her as general secretary of the Guild.
She also thanked members of the Guild for making her work a pleasant experience.

Reacting to the development, multiple award-winning journalist and Managing Editor of The NEXT EDITION, Ibanga Isine, described the election of Ms. Ibanga as a fitting recognition of her leadership ability.
“The election of our managing editor is a fitting recognition of the quality of the leadership she brought to the Guild as general secretary,” said Mr. Isine.
“She earned the respect of her colleagues and that’s exactly why they have elected her unopposed as treasurer.
