“All roads leading to my house have been condoned off, as heavy mobile police men blocked entry & exit of the road. They currently lay siege on in and around the house.”
The siege to his residence is coming after he was arrested Monday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja.
He was arrested by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
The senator announced his arrest in a tweet he sent at the time.
It reads: “I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Govt after checking in.”
Melaye was later released some hours after.
It would be recalled that the police had declared Melaye wanted over a number of issues one of which had to do with illegal possession of arms.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State, Ali Janga, the senator was already on the Interpol watch list.
