Lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Dino Melaye on Friday slumped at the Abuja headquarters of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, office, shortly before interrogation by operatives of the unit.
He was taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
The embattled Senator gave himself up on Friday after being holed up in his residence for eight days following a siege to his house by the Nigeria Police Force.
The police were after him for alleged culpable homicide in the alleged shooting of a Police Officer, Sgt. Danjuma Aliu in July 2018. The officer is said to be lying critically ill at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
Melaye was accompanied to SARS office by some senators who had visited his residence on Friday and his lawyer after failing to meet with the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, at the Force headquarters.
