There is no basis for comparing my eight years of governance with that of Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State who is barely two years in office.

Former governor of the state, Senator Godswill Akpabio made this assertion on Friday while dissociating himself, staff, office and associates from a publication against Emmanuel in a national newspaper on Thursday.

In a statement issued by Akpabio’s media aide, Anietie Ekong, the senator said the publication was condemnable.

Akpabio expressed confidence that Governor Emmanuel would definitely leave Akwa Ibom State better than he met it by the time he completed his eight years in office.

Senator Akpabio commended Governor Emmanuel for keeping his electioneering campaign promises to Akwa Ibom people particularly in the area of industrialization.

He expressed happiness with the strides so far recorded by the Udom Emmanuel administration particularly the recently commissioned electric metering and syringe factories by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

The former Governor and Senate Minority Leader cautioned mischief makers not to use his name in attempting to create bad blood in his relationship with his successor.

He said he believed that Emmanuel possessed the capacity to improve on the Uncommon Transformation witnessed during his tenure between 2007 and 2015 and hasd so far demonstrated same.
