Former First Lady of Ivory Coast, Simone Gagbo, has been released from prison.

The former First Lady who was serving a 20-year jail term was released after being granted amnesty by President Alassane Quattara.
Agency reports quoted Attorney Bless Dohore as saying Mrs. Gbagbo had left the gendarmerie academy in Abidjan which had been her home for the past seven years.
She is expected to head to her home, district of Cocody, where supporters are waiting to receive her.
Mrs. Gbagbo was handed a 20 year jail term in 2015 for her role in the violence that followed the 2010 elections in the country which saw the death of more than 3,000 people.
Then aged 65, she was charged with undermining state security, disturbing public peace and organising armed gangs.
Her husband and former President of Ivory Coast Laurent Gbagbo is on trial at the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
The former First Lady was granted amnesty by President Quattara in what he said was a move to foster reconciliation.
She is among 800 people that were pardoned by the president
