An Ejigbo High Court in Osun State has restrained the police and her agents from arresting or detaining the Osun State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Justice A. A. Aderibigbe issued the order following an application by Adeleke to that effect.
In a court order issued in a motion ex-parte on Thursday, the judge ordered that the police should not take any action that would infringe on the liberty and freedom of Adeleke to prepare for and participate in the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
The restriction is pending the determination of the substantive application.
The applicant in the case is Adeleke while the respondents included the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for Osun State command.

The return day is Thursday 27th September, 2018.
The police, on Wednesday, summoned Adeleke over alleged examination malpractice and criminal conspiracy.
He was said to have carried out the crime along with the principal of the school, and two other members of staff.
He was requested to report to the police, a situation which would have made it impossible for him to participate in the governorship election coming up on Saturday in Osun State.
