Friday, June 15 and Monday, 18, have been declared as public holiday for the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
Eid-el-Fitri marks the end of the month of fasting for muslims.
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, announced the public holiday on Monday in a statement by the Permanent Secretary at the ministry, Dr. M. B. Umar.

While congratulating muslims on the completion of fasting, the minister call on Nigerians in general to pray for peace, unity and prosperity of the nation.
He also called on them to live a life a life of sacrifice, charity and love for one another.
