Country music legend, Dolly Parton has come out to support the Black Lives Matter Movement in an interview with Billboard Magazine.
This Movement became popular after the brutal killing of an African-American man, George Floyd, whose neck a police officer knelt on for many minutes in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
The ‘Coat of many colours’ singer said she understands people having to make themselves known, felt and seen, and that black lives matter not only the white ones.
She also explained why she changed the name of her dinner show from the Dixie Stampede to The Stampede, back in 2018.

“When they said ‘Dixie’ was an offensive word, I thought, well, I don’t want to offend anybody. This is a business, we’ll just call it The Stampede.’
She also told the magazine that there’s such a thing as innocent ignorance and so many are guilty of that and if you realize something is a problem, you fix it.
Parton made her album debut in 1967 with Hello, I’m Dolly. She has had 25 songs reach number one on the Billboard country music harts, has ten Grammy Awards and 49 nominations and 110 career-charted singles over the past 40 years.
She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999.
