Following the nationwide broadcast of President Muhammadu Buhari on the review of the COVID-19 situation in the country and the directive to extend Lagos State’s lockdown to another 14 days, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed all offices at the state’s secretariat in Alausa as well as other government establishments statewide to remain closed.
A circular issued to journalists on Monday by the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, said the closure commenced with the president’s extension order on the lockdown from Monday, April 13.
The circular directed that all hospitals and other frontline responders in the management and control of the pandemic remain excluded from the lockdown, as well as all essential services.

According to the HoS, Sanwo-Olu further recognised and appreciated the dedication of all state officials, medical /health workers, logistics or relief support workers, as well as online education providers in the frontline battle against the pandemic.
He advised those not directly involved to keep on spreading the message, to stay safe and practice personal hygiene, adding that the collective efforts of the residents would yield the desired results in bringing the pandemic to an end.
