Efforts by Maryam Sanda who alleged killed her husband, Bilyamin Mohammed Bello, to secure a bail at the Federal Capital Territory Court on Thursday proved abortive.
Sanda was reported to have stabbed Bello, son of ex-Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Haliru Bello, to death over alleged case of infidelity.
While appearing in court on Thursday, counsel to Sanda, Mr. Joesph Daudu, pleaded for the court to grant her bail.
His excuse was that Sanda needed medical attention.
He said besides, the accused needed time to attend to her baby who is just six months old.

Justice Halilu Yusuf, however, turned down the request saying that there was no proof that Sanda was suffering for any ailment that could not be taken care of in the prison.
He added that the excuse that she was a nursing mother did not make her automatically eligible for bail.
Meanwhile, Sanda’s mother, Maimuna Aliyu, and her brother were granted bail during the arraignment.
Sanda will remain in prison till the February 6 date of adjournment.
