The war against the terrorists group, Boko Haram, is not yet won. In fact, it is not over.
These are the declarations made by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, on Wednesday.
Buratai who was addressing officers and men of the Nigerian Army at Damaturu, Yobe State capital, said the war needed to be intensified to see the end of insurgency.
He however commended the troops for the level of achievement recorded so far.

He gave the assurance that the authorities would do everything possible to support them in the battle.
He also encouraged them to work in co-operation with other security agents.
His words: “The war has not yet been won and all is not over until it is over. Hence, I congratulate you on the progress made so far but we must do more.
“Let me urge you to partner with other security agents in prosecuting the war and anything less will jeopardise the efforts of the security forces as a whole.
“I want to assure you that the highest military hierarchy will continue to give you all the necessary support in the fight.”
