No fewer than 30 soldiers were reported to have been killed and 20 others injured by members of the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
The terrorists were said to have attacked a military base in Zari, Borno State on Thursday.
A source disclosed that the terrorist who came in their multitude sacked the village as they also attacked the military base in the area.

The soldiers withdrew from the battle following the amount of bombardment by the terrorists, leaving them to cart away weapons and other materials.
However, the fighter jet deployed to the area saved the situation as it repelled the attacks.
The Nigerian Army is yet to make any statement on the number of casualties recorded in the attack.
