Before the show, Tobi had below 30,000 followers on Instagram, but presently, Tobi has over 200,000 followers on Instagram.
He is the most talked about housemate of Big Brother Naija’s Double Wahala.
On Twitter for instance, out of ten tweets on ‘BBNaija’ eight are likely to be about Tobi.
Saturday night, he was the number one trend in the world alongside Alex for their dance moves.
How did Tobi become this famous? What makes him the fans favourite?
Last week Tuesday, Cee-C who was the Head of House spent over one hour insulting Tobi.
In the face of provocation, he remained calm.
She insulted him and his entire “generation.”
She also threatened to hit his head on the wall while tapping his chest.
Tobi kept his calm.
As a result of that show of shame by Cee-C, she was removed as the Head of House and given a strike.
Big Brother also commended Tobi for not reacting violently.
What followed were praises from fans and celebrities.
On Air Personality, Toolz has thrown her weight behind Tobi as a result.
She took to her Twitter page to declare support for him.
Similarly, runner up in last year’s Big Brother Naija, Bisola, also urged her fans to vote Tobi to win the show.
Denrele Edun, ToKe Makinwa, DJ Jimmy Jat, Falz the Badguy, DJ Exclusive, Orenzi, Kemi Adetiba, Davido, Bred and a host of others are in support of Tobi.
Tobi Bakre worked as an investment banker at Heritage Bank for about four years before resigning for the Big Brother Naija show.
While he enjoyed his banking job, he wanted something more exciting.
As a result, he bought the Big Brother Naija form, and fortunately for him, he was called for the audition.
According to Tobi, prior to the morning of the audition, he went partying with a few friends.
However due to his determination to make it to the audition, he slept in his car till day break and moved to the audition venue.
That was how determined he was.
Before his job as a banker, Tobi attended the prestigious University of Lagos where he bagged a degree in Finance.
He has been part of the show from day one and he is set to be there till the final day.

Only one person is going home with the grand prize of N25 million with an SUV said to be worth N20 million.
Many want it to be Tobi.
While Miracle, a fellow housemate has been number one based on voting results, it is the name Tobi that is on the lips of almost every viewer of the show.
In a brief chat with 50 people who said they are not part of any team, they said they want Tobi to win due to the value he brought to the show.
To them, Tobi is the most entertaining housemate.
He is funny, brilliant and tolerant.
He is the only housemate to become Head of House four times.
When it comes to the tasks in the house, he puts his best.
When he fails a task, it could be seen that he tried to succeed to the very end.
He never quits.
Mr. Tunde Thompson who is a banker said, “Tobi should be an inspiration to the younger generation. He has proven to people that Big Brother is not about immorality. Tobi has been in that house for almost 85 days, but has not had sex with any of the female housemates. He will be remembered for his intellectual capacity and the zeal to succeed at any given opportunity.”
Another viewer of the show, Ezekiel Onoiza said, “Without Tobi, this would have been a regular Big Brother. Tobi brought something different. I did not care about the show until I heard a lot about Tobi. I had to watch to know if he was worth the hype.
“If Tobi wins this year’s edition, it would be well deserved. Even his detractors will agree that he deserve it,” he said.
His main contender based on voting results in the past weeks, is Miracle.
While Miracle has many supporters, many are not convinced that he deserves the prize.
Neutrals and fans of other housemates don’t agree that Miracle should win it.
A popular Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim, took to Twitter last week to bare her mind.
According to her, while Miracle is a nice guy, she thinks he is boring and does not deserve to win the prize.
It remains to be seen, if the love people have shown for Tobi will translated to votes for him.
A winner will emerge this night.
