In its report on Friday, Channels Television said the inauguration of Mr. Joseph Fafi as the acting chairman of the APC, which took place at Yenagoa erupted in violence.

It was gathered that party faithful had convened for the inauguration when some people believed to be thugs invaded the venue and shot into the air to scare them.

The appointment of Fafi by the party’s national leadership was as a result of the expulsion of Mr. Tiwei Orunimighe; his deputy, Eddy Julius; and secretary, Marlin Daniel, by the National Executive Council over alleged anti-party activities.

It was in his capacity that Eta directed Fafi to act as the chairman pending his ratification by the< National Working Committee of the party.

The directive is contained in a “Letter of Authority” by Eta on August 15.
