The Nigerian Military in Benue state, on Tuesday, joined their counterparts in other parts of the country to mark the 2019 armed forces remembrance day in honour of the fallen soldiers who paid the supreme price for the country.
Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom who led other dignitaries to lay a wreath for the fallen heroes pledged the commitment of his administration to continue to partner and support the Nigerian Army to enable them succeed in their national assignment.
He stated this while laying a wreath on the tomb of the fallen heroes at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, IBB square in Makurdi, venue for the event.

Gov. Ortom appreciated the Nigerian military for their efforts in bringing peace to the country particularly in Benue state.
He therefore pledged total support and urged them to keep up the good work.
The chairman Benue state council of chiefs, the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse also joined the military to lay wreath on the tomb of the fallen heroes.
Representatives of Tactical Air Command, Nigeria Navy provost Regulatory School Makurdi, the Nigeria School of Military Engineering, 707 Special Forces as well as the Nigerian Legion of Ex-service men all laid wreaths on the tomb of the fallen soldiers.
Christian and Islamic prayers were offered for the souls of the fallen soldiers.
Highlight of the day’s celebration was twenty one gunshot salute, a demonstration of honour for the fallen heroes.
