Another Torture House Found in Adamawa, Police Rescue 15

The Adamawa State police have raided another illegal rehabilitation centre in the state where they rescued 15 inmates.

Among the rescued where 13 adults and two teenagers whom the Police said were kept in dehumanising conditions.

DSP Suleiman Nguroje, who disclosed this in Yola on Wednesday, said the operator of centre with his three sons have also been arrested.

He did not however revea their names.
According to him, the rescue operation was based on intelligence reports.

e said Police found the victims in a one-room apartment which ordinarily should not even house three persons considering the harsh weather condition of the state.

Nguroje said, “They were being chained, humiliated, victimised, subjected to unnecessary torture. They were in chains for 24 hours without feeding and medication.”

He revealed that with the exception of the two teenagers the other victims were adults aged between 22 and 46 years.

Nguroje said investigations into the activities of the four suspects have already begun.
