Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Monday congratulated the former Military Governor of the defunct Western State and former Minister of Police Affairs Maj. Gen. David Jemibewon (rtd) on his 80th.

The governor sent the congratulatory message in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Rafiu Ajakaye, in Ilorin on Monday.
“On behalf of my family, the people and the government of Kwara State, I congratulate elder statesman, General David Jemibewon, on his 80th birthday.
“By all yardsticks of greatness, the retired general has distinguished himself as an asset and a source of pride to the people of old Kwara State, a part of which his community Ijumu was until the creation of Kogi State.
“Throughout his long years of service as governor of the old Western State and later Oyo State, the general exhibited integrity, contentment, hard work, fair play, personal discipline, and good judgment.

“Throughout his years in public service and after, he maintained his good name and displayed uncommon brilliance.
“He left unblemished records and never at any time brought opprobrium to the state or its people.
“On this 80th anniversary of his birthday, our administration is proud to associate with this distinguished senior citizen and a member of the Nigerian military top brass.
“I pray the Almighty God to grant him more rewarding years and good health to enable the country to tap more into his wealth of experience and goodwill,” the statement added.
