The police in Abuja on Friday paraded one Mustapha Aliyu, who was arrested with the freshly cut-off head of a three-year-old boy, later identified as Usman Awalu.
The 22-year-old, who was arrested in May, reportedly told the police that he had beheaded four children before he was apprehended and that he handed the severed heads to his boss who paid him N170,000 for every male head and N160,000 for a female head he brought.
Parading the suspect and others in Abuja on Friday, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Ciroma, said, “On May 19, 2019, about 14:30hrs, following a distress call, police operatives arrested Aliyu in possession of a freshly severed head of a three-year-old boy who was later identified as Usman Awalu of Rugan Fulani close to Leleyi village in Kwali Area Council.
“The suspect confessed that prior to his arrest, he had beheaded four children and gave their heads to his master who is now at large.
“He said his victims were taken from Sheda, Kwali, Kilankwa, Gwako and Leleyi villages. Effort is being intensified to arrest his master who is currently at large.”

The Commissioner also disclosed that his command recovered a locally fabricated Sub-Machine gun with two live ammunition from one Jacob Augustine, a.k.a. J. Boy, at his apartment in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
The suspect, upon arrest, gave useful information that led to the arrest of one Tahiru Sule, 29 and Zephaniah Israel, 28, who are members of his gang, he said.
In another development, Ciroma said operatives from his command on June 14 recovered one locally made pistol and two live cartridges from some hoodlums at Jikwoyi.
He said they had received a distress call about 02:30hrs, on the said date that some hoodlums were operating at Jikwoyi and when a police team arrived the scene, the hoodlums fled and abandoned their firearms.
