The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday declared that the speeches made by President Muhammadu Buhari and other All Progressives Congress, APC, leaders at the campaign for Gboyega Oyetola betrayed the fact that the APC had lost its bearings and could not solve the nation’s problems.
Oyetola is APC candidate in the Osun State governorship election coming up on September 22.
PDP said the “emptiness of the speeches and their inability to present any resume or performance record of their candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, is a clear indication that APC leaders have no confidence in his candidature and have nothing to offer the people of Osun State.”
It said alleged poor attendance, in addition to the lacklustre attitude of the audience, showed the defeat that awaited the APC in Osun State.

“Nigerians were heavily amused when President Buhari appropriated the rally, abandoned the governorship candidate, brought out a written script, and attempted to impress the people with his usual false performance claims.
“Similarly, the APC factional National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole could not speak to the values which the candidate will bring to bear on the lives of the people of Osun State. If anything, Oshiomhole turned the campaign ground to a jester’s arena, as he called on school children to vote for APC.
“In all, the failed rally was a demonstration of the fact that APC’s days in Osun are numbered and its rigging machinery cannot save it from a crushing defeat, come September 22, 2018,” PDP said.
