Premium Times, having learnt that Ogundipe would be taken to the court, ensure the presence of the company’s lawyer to press for his bail which was granted without any opposition from the police.

Ogundipe was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday over alleged theft and unlawful possession of restricted and classified documents.

The reporter had written a news story based on the information he got from a letter transmitted to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on the recently sacked Director General of Department of State Services, DSS, Lawal Daura.

His arrest has generated public outcry with many describing it as an embarrassment to the nation.
