No fewer than 20 armed bandits were killed and three others arrested by the Nigerian Army at Jambrini Village in Maru local government area of Zamfara State.
The bandits were killed in an operation carried out by the 1 Division of the Nigerian Armyon Saturday.
The operation is titled Idon Raini Corridor II.
In a statement issued in Kaduna by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Muhammad Dole, the raid was carried out on the hideouts of the on armed bandits in the general area of Jambrini village in the early hours of Saturday.
According to him, several hideouts were destroyed.

He said while some of them were killed, some arrested, others escaped with gunshot wounds.
Materials recovered from the bandits include four AK 47 rifles, one F99 pistol, one PTT HH Motorola handset, 111 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, five AK 47 rifle magazines, two dane guns, three mobile phones and one power bank.
While expressing the commitment of the troops to contain the activities of bandits, Dole called on members of the public to feed security agencies with useful information to aid their work.
According to him, the successful attack on the bandits followed useful information from members of the public.
