Jealousy, the proverbial green-eyed monster that almost everyone knows and can relate with has been known to break apart many a relationships when it raises its head. But between the man and his female partner, who is guiltier of it? A vox pop conducted by The Next Edition led to interesting answers.
Tolu, Uber Driver: Men are more jealous because if I’m in a relationship that I want to lead to marriage I won’t want any guy around her. But if I’m not serious about her I don’t care what she does.
Femi Adewumi, Businessman: In marriage, men are more jealous but in relationships the women are more jealous. A married man believes that the woman he married is the best thing for him and not for another person. In relationships women are more jealous because they are insecure and feeble minded.
Blessing Abraham, Hair Stylist: A guy is more jealous. They just react about any male that comes around you. It’s too much! Any guy you greet or pick a call from, you are doing something with him!
Matilda George, Student: Women is guiltier! I say so because personally I know I am jealous.
Edidiong Bassey, Apprentice: In a relationship, normal boyfriend and girlfriend, it’s the women. But in marriage, we the men are more jealous. We can even kill if she steps out.
Shola, Student: I can’t say which sex is more jealous. I will say there’s a difference between being territorial and being jealous. At least I think so. I’m more territorial than jealous because what’s mine is mine.

Abigail Peter, Hair dresser: A man is more jealous. Even if your brother calls you and you had stored his number in your phone under another name, the mood just changes immediately. The reaction is instant. I am talking about the one that has happened to me.
