In a rare display of love, the Bauchi State Food Vendors Multi-Purpose Cooperative Union has expressed its resolve to buy the nomination form for President Muhammadu Buhari for the 2019 election.

It also expressed its resolve to buy the nomination form for Governor Mohammed Abubakar to contest for a second term in 2019.

The chairperson of the union, Hajiya Kaltume Katagum, made the decision of the union known during a courtesy visit to the Special Assistant to Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar on Non-Governmental Organisations ( NGOs) and Social Investment Programmes ( SIPs), Mansur Manu Soro.

She said that was their own way of showing appreciation to Buhari and Abubakar for improving the living standard of their members and the generality of the people of the country.

Her words: “The Home-Grown Schools Feeding Programme has improved our general standard of living so much that our members who never touched N5,000 in their lives today receive N100,000 directly into their bank accounts.

“Majority of us were not privileged to even visit bank until President Buhari came to power.

“We sincerely thank the president, vice president, Bauchi Governor and National SIPs office for making our dreams a reality.”

Speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Non-Governmental Organisations and Social Investment Programmes commended members of the union for the visit.

He said the harsh economic situation in the country made the federal and state government to come up with different programmes to improve the lives of the people of the country.

No fewer than 5,005 cooks were employed by Bauch State government to feed 501,399 pupils in 2,000 public primary schools as at November 2017.
