The General Manager, Public Affairs, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Mrs Evelyn Njoku has said that women in aviation are shaping the future of the Nigerian skies, and showing resilience.
Njoku, also President of Women in Aviation, Glowing Wing Chapter, made this known in a statement on Sunday to mark the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD), celebration.
The. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that IWD is celebrated globally every March 8, in recognition of the efforts and achievements of women in society, and a call for action in accelerating gender parity.
She said that from the control towers to boardrooms, engineering, and public affairs, women are shaping the future of our skies.
“In aviation especially, we are proving every day that competence, vision, and leadership know no gender.
“From the control towers to boardrooms, from engineering to public affairs, women are shaping the future of our skies.
“As General Manager of Public Affairs at NAMA and President of Women in Aviation, Glowing Wings Chapter, I remain deeply committed to advancing opportunities for women,” she said
She noted that she is also committed to mentoring the next generation, and ensuring that young girls see aviation not as a distant dream but as a field where they can thrive and lead.
According to Njoku, IWD is not just a celebration, but a reminder that equality, respect, and opportunity must continue to be defended and expanded.
“When women rise, industries grow stronger, communities become better, and nations move forward.
“To every woman breaking barriers, balancing responsibilities, and lifting others along the way, I celebrate your courage and determination.
“Let us continue to support one another, open doors for the next generation, and build a future where every woman can soar without limits,” she said.
