Popular Yoruba actor, and movie producer, Murphy Afolabi, is dead. He was 49 years old.
According to reports, Afolabi who celebrated his birthday nine days ago, was said to have died following an injury he sustained when he slipped in his bathroom at his home in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The demise of the actor, which was confirmed Sunday morning has thrown the movie industry into mourning as many of his colleagues and friends have expressed shock over his sudden death.

His demise was confirmed by one of his colleagues, Odunlade Adekola, who took to his Instagram handle to express his shock over the unfortunate passing of Murphy.
Adekola’s post on Instagram says, “Jesus Christ, we lost Murphy.”
A filmmaker, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, also wrote: “REST IN PEACE. May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss. Good night Murphy Afolabi.”
Afolabi’s death came barely 24 hours after the death of of another Nollywood star, Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi, was confirmed.
