The Minister stated this after a rousing welcome by party chieftains, elders, governorship aspirants and members in Makurdi.

Akume described the PDP-led government as a failure citing months of unpaid salary arrears to workers, pensioners and infrastructural deficit in the state.

Senator Akume, who expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari, for the various road projects across Benue state said the projects are serving their main purposes which is to ease the plight of the Benue people.

While stating further that Governor Ortom has spent over N500billion with nothing to show for it, he noted that Governor Ortom rather than respond to the main issues raised at his last media outing in Abuja chose to trade insult against the presidency.

He urged party members to be steadfast and continue to support the party to clinch power in the 2023 general elections.

Other party leaders in their separate remarks; state party Chairman, Abba Yaro among others expressed optimism that the party will no doubt take over Benue in 2023, just as they applauded the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.
