Three scavengers were on Thursday, arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan over alleged stealing of motor spare parts and iron rod, worth N2.4m.
Kazeem Sunday, 34; Olumide Adepoju, 27 and Yusuf Sanni, 24, of undisclosed address, are standing trial arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Ojeleye, told the court that the defendants conspired together to commit the offences.
He said that the defendants, on October 12, at about 6:30 a.m. under the guise of scavenging, stole iron rod, binding wire and dangle quarter rod, valued at N2,240,000 from a shop, property of one Prince Gbadebo of Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan.
He said that the trio also stole motor spare parts, jack and scraps of vehicle, value at N190,000, property of one Akeem Rauf of Odo-Ona area, Ibadan.
The prosecutor said that the offences were committed at Cele Bus-Stop, Odo- Ona Elewe area, Ibadan.
According to him, the offences contravene Section 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Titilayo Oyekanmi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
Oyekanmi, who said that one of the sureties must be close relation of the defendants, adjourned the case till November 26, for hearing. (NAN)
