The Federal Government, on Thursday indicated that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps will be reopened after educational institutions in the country commence full activities.
Meanwhile, the government has asked educational institutions to begin preparations to fully reopen, even as some states have already scheduled to reopen schools in mid September.
Dr. Sani Aliyu, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, gave the indication on Thursday during a briefing at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
Recall that the Federal Government had in March shut all orientation camps nationwide in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.
The 3-week orientation course of 2020 Batch A1 corps members, had been ongoing as at the time the camps were shut.

Commenting on a possible date for reopening, Aliyu said, “For the National Youth Service Corps, the NYSC is to consolidate on safety measures currently being put in place and start preparing for the reopening of orientation camps when educational institutions open.
“We are in the process of developing strict guidelines to ensure there is no outbreak of Covid-19 when this process starts.”
