The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Benue State, Mr. John Ngbede has stated that the party still remains a better option for Nigerians to choose their leaders from come 2023.
Ngbede who stated this in Makurdi while briefing Journalists after an expanded caucus meeting of the PDP, said the meeting was called to interact with party members both at the state and national level and to encourage them to be steadfast.
Ngbede noted that the party has remained undivided in Benue state saying despite the gale of defections in the state, none of their members has defected to the opposition.
The state PDP Chairman said the party has rather received new members who are decamping from the opposition into the party in Agatu Local Government Area and other places in the state.
He charged members to continue to remain strong and committed to the ideals of the party insisting that there is no better option that the PDP.
Earlier at the meeting, Governor Samuel Ortom expressed confidence that Nigerians will prefer the return of the PDP at the centre come 2023, especially with the failure of the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government in all sectors.
Ortom stated that the APC-led federal government has failed Nigerians in the areas of infrastructure, economy, security and in the fight against corruption, stressing that worst is that the President claims ignorance of whatever happens in the country.
The Governor expressed surprise that people are defecting from other political parties to the APC when it is obvious that their interest as a people is not protected under the APC administration.

He also stated that Benue would continue to be a voice in the country especially now that sycophants and mediocres were all over the place working tirelessly to hoodwink the unsuspecting public.
He urged council chairmen in the state to carry along all stakeholders in their localities saying that would bring unity and confidence among party faithful.
Present at the meeting were former Senate President, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, Senator Abba Moro on behalf of National Assembly members from the state as well as Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Titus Uba, who all decried the abysmal failure of the APC and pledged commitment to building a virile party preparatory to the 2023 general elections.
