A governorship aspirant in Benue State under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Mathias Byuan, has decried the level of suffering by Benue citizens under the leadership of the People Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr. Byuan who spoke during an interaction with journalists in Makurdi, on Monday, said the Benue people have suffered so much hunger and starvation saying that it will be a thing of the past when the APC, through him, come to power in 2023.
According to Byuan, “come 2023, APC will win Governorship of Benue State. We are going to work very seriously to defeat PDP in Benue.
“Benue state needs total rehabilitation. Our people have suffered so much and there is so much hunger in the land.
“When we come on board and we are tackling insecurity, boosting Internally Generated Revenue, (IGR), and doing infrastructure, we will also do stomach infrastructure because our people have suffered so much hunger.”
“Benue’s purse will not belong to Byuan, it will belong to the people and I will open it so that the people will eat from it, he said.
The governorship hopeful who sued for oneness among the APC aspirants and members said “the only way we can win election in Benue as APC family, is to work together.
“We will learn from the mistakes of 2019. We should stop issues of complaining and fighting ourselves.

“The energy we will use in abusing ourselves, we should rather redirect that energy to fight the and wrestle back power.
“I am here to officially tell you I’m contesting for the seat of Governor come 2023.
“We have all we need within to turn Benue around and as a business man who have toured round the country, Benue would be considered to a village when compared to other states; even our neighbouring Nasarawa state. Our state needs to be touched. It needs rehabilitation and I am here to deliver the state with the help of the people,” he added.
