Many primary school pupils are feared dead following the collapse of a three-storey building at Itafaji, Lagos Island.
The building was said to have collapsed around 10am on Wednesday morning while classes were in season.
The school was said to be on the last floor of the building.
A resident of the area, Prince Adams, was quoted by the Punch Newspaper as saying no fewer than 10 pupils had been removed from the rubble so far.
“It is terrible. Parents are crying. I can’t withstand the gory sight,” he added.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Kehinde Adebayo, confirmed the collapse, adding that emergency officials were already on the ground.
