Ekiti State House of Assembly, on Thursday, approved the N10 billion supplementary budget presented by the governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.
The passage of the supplementary bill came barely a few weeks to the end Fayose’s tenure.
The handing over to Governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, will hold on October 16.
The bill has been a source of controversy with Fayemi faulting the move.
According to Fayemi in a statement issued by his spokesman, Wole Olujobi, supplementary budget was not in the interest of the people of the state.
But at a session on Thursday, the bill which was submitted to the House and described as “2018 Revised Budget,” was passed.
The session was presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Kola Oluwawole, and in attendance were 14 lawmakers.
The bill went through first, second readings and committee review before it was passed within the hour.
