Buhari visits Kano, sets 500 inmates free

President Muhammadu Buhari has pardoned 500 inmates of the Kurmawa Central Prisons in Kano metropolis.

The move was part of the federal government’s efforts to decongest the prisons in the country.

The president who visited the prison on Wednesday during his two-day official visit to the state was accompanied by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State among others.

Granting the pardon, the president advised the inmates to be of good behaviour and away from anything that could send them back to prison.
