Two sales representatives were arraigned in Lagos on Tuesday for allegedly stealing N15 million from a supermarket.
The defendants, Kate Onyemaechi, 23 and Patrick Abu, 26, whose residential addresses were not given, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Friday Mameh, told the court that the two between September 2018 and February 2019, stole N15 million belonging to Mac-Bena Supermarket and Pharmacy Ltd, Lekki, Lagos.
According to him, the defendants sold some items from the shop, but did not remit the proceeds to the complainant’s account.

The offences contravened Sections 287 (7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however, denied the charges.
In her ruling, Magistrate M. O. Ope-Agbe, granted the defendants N7 million bail each with one surety each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until March 5 for mention.
